CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Lindsay Halpin poured in a team-high 19 points, all in the second half, as the Knights picked up a victory in their final regular season game, defeating host Cortland, 71-51, Saturday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Senior guard Sara Ciotti and first year guard Taylor Hansen combined for ten points, five apiece, as the Knights ended the opening quarter trailing, 16-12.

• First year forward Lauren Romito tallied four points while Ciotti added another five in the second quarter, but the Red Dragons held on to a 33-26 lead going into halftime.

• Halpin opened the third quarter with seven-straight points as the Knights outscored Cortland 21-7 to erase the deficit and take a 47-40 into the final frame.

• The Knights extended the lead throughout the fourth, securing the 71-51 victory in their final game of the regular season. 

QUICK FACTS

• Junior forward Kerrin Montgomery pulled in a game high 14 rebounds and also added nine points.

• Geneseo outscored Cortland, 45-28, in the second half as the Knights held the Red Dragons to 7-for-33 (21.2%) shooting, including 1-for-13 (7.7%) from beyond the arc. 

• The Knights finished 18-for-19 from the foul line, their best free-throw percentage of the season in games with 10 or more attempts.
