BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior guard Sara Ciotti totaled a team-high 21 points as well as three assists, and two steals leading the Knights to a dominant conference victory over the Brockport Golden Eagles, 71-59, Saturday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights opened up the game scoring seven unanswered points. Junior guard Natalie Alfieri was perfect from the field, scoring eight points within the first five minutes. She ended the quarter with 10 points as Geneseo led the Golden Eagles, 30-9, after one quarter.
• The Geneseo offense continued their success as Ciotti started the quarter with back-to-back baskets totaling eight in the period. Ciotti finished with 16 first-half poitns as the Knights went into halftime harboring a 45-26 lead.
• Junior guard Lindsay Halpin opened the quarter with a three-pointer, as junior forward Kerrin Montgomery added three points throughout the period, finishing the third quarter up, 60-41.
• Sophomore forward Megan Roell scored five points in the final quarter of play to secure the Knights' road victory over Brockport, 71-59. 

QUICK FACTS

• The 30-point first quarter outing was the second highest points scored in a quarter for the Knights on the season. Their highest was a 33-point first quarter against Hilbert in the first contest of the season. 
• Geneseo shot 64.3% from the field on 18-28 shooting in the first half, a season best first half total.
• Kerrin Montgomery was just two points shy of another double-double, totaling eight points and a team high ten rebounds.
• The Knights never trailed throughout the contest and after gaining a double-digit lead four minutes into the first, the lead never dropped back down to single digits.

The Knights will travel to SUNY Oswego on Friday Feb. 21 for the final weekend of regular season play. Tip off is set for 5:30 PM.
