Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - Senior forward Conlan Keenan recorded his third-career hat trick as the Knights outscored the Mustangs, 4-0, in the second period on their way to an 8-3 victory against Morrisville on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mustangs scored two goals on their first two shots of the game to go up 2-0 with 12:10 to play in the first period. Three minutes later, Senior defenseman Tanner Salsberry got Geneseo on the board with a goal.
- Keenan evened the game at 2-2 with 1:58 left in the first period.
- Senior defenseman Teddy McCabe and first-year forward Bryan Zurowski each scored a goal as the Knight surged to a 4-2 lead halfway through the second period.
- While on the penalty kill, junior forward Levi Wunder scored to put the Knights up 5-2. Then Keenan's power play goal extended the Knights' lead to 6-2 heading into the third period. Keenan secured a hat trick with 16:32 left in the game.
- Junior forward Andrew Hart rounded out the scoring at the 17:23 mark as the Knight coasted to an 8-3 road conference win.
FAST FACTS
- Wunder scored his second-career short-handed goal, the Knights' third short-handed tally of the year.
- Keenan is the third Knight to score a hat trick this season, joining senior forward Tyson Empey (Nov. 16 vs. Oswego & Jan. 4 vs. Neumann) and junior forward Carson Kelley (Jan. 24 vs. Potsdam).
- Geneseo scored multiple goals in all three periods for the third time this season and tallied eight goals for the fourth time this year.
