Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior forward Kerrin Montgomery led all scorers with 17 points behind a 5-for-6 shooting performance to lead the Knights past visiting Potsdam, 89-50, in SUNYAC action, Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior guard Lindsay Halpin contributed two buckets in the closing minute of the first quarter, but it was Potsdam leading at the end of the opening period of play, 15-13.
- Halpin nailed a three-pointer with 2:06 remaining in the half, the cap of a 10-0 Geneseo scoring run that began at the 4:08 mark. Senior guard Sara Ciotti and junior forward Natalie Alfieri each drilled a three-pointer in the final two minutes of the period as the Knights led at halftime, 42-26.
- Senior guard Madison McCulley drained three three-pointers during the third quarter as the Knights took a commanding 75-40 advantage into the final period of play.
- First-year forward Lauren Romito finished a layup at the 7:05 mark to give Geneseo an 80-45 lead. McCulley tallied her season-high eleventh point with 1:51 remaining as the Knights held on to win, 89-50.
