Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior forward Conlan Keenan scored two goals and added a pair of assists as the Knights shook off a two-goal first period deficit to defeat visiting Fredonia, 5-2, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play on Saturday night at Ira S. Wilson Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fredonia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, scoring midway through the period and again just before intermission.
- Geneseo got on the board just over six minutes into the second period when senior forward Andrew Romano buried a loose puck in front, making it 2-1.
- Keenan scored back-to-back goals, tying the game with 9:41 to play in the second before he sent the Knights ahead 3-2 with a power play goal just 2:20 later.
- Sophomore defenseman Matthew Doran added a power-play tally late in the second period to lift Geneseo to a 4-2 advantage, burying a snap shot from the point.
- Senior forward Tyson Empey added his team-leading eighth goal of the season, his sixth power play tally of the year, in the third period as the Knights put away the Blue Devils.
