Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Terrance Nichols scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the Knights as they fell to Thiel, 69-54, in the Buzz Ridl Tournament, hosted by Westminster (Pa.).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Thiel opened the game on an 8-0 run before Nichols sunk the Knights' first field goal at the 3:55 mark to make it 8-3.
- The Bobcats led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but Geneseo closed the period on a 14-8 run to cut the deficit to 31-22 at halftime.
- First-year guard Michael Gannon opened the second half with a three-pointer to cut the lead to six points, but it was as close as the Knights would draw to the Bobcats.
- Thiel used a 29-16 run to extend their lead and closed out the Knights.
QUICK FACTS
- Nichols shot 8-for-15 from the floor, including 4-for-9 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 from the foul line.
- Sophomore forward Joseph Harclerode III recorded a team-high three blocks while first-year guard Elijah Wingfield registered a squad-best three steals.
