GENESEO, N.Y. - First-year guard Natalie Alfieri scored a team-high 16 points while junior foward McKenna Brooks netted 15 as the Knights rolled to a victory over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent Buffalo State, 72-52, on Friday night at Schrader Gymnasium. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Bengals, 18-9, in the first quarter led by 11 points from Brooks in the opening period.
• Geneseo led by as many as 15 in the second quarter, as junior guard Kelsey Poplawski sank a jumper to put the team up, 28-13, with 5:12 to play in the frame. The Bengals scored the final four points of the quarter to cut into the Geneseo advantage, but trailed at the half, 37-27.
• In the third quarter, Buffalo State used a 10-2 run to move within two points, but a three-pointer from first-year guard Lindsay Halpin with 2:17 remaining in the frame extended the Geneseo lead and the team went into the fourth with a 45-40 edge.
• The Knights opened the fourth quarter with a 15-7 run, capped by a three-pointer by sophomore guard Madison McCulley, to break the game open and outscored the Bengals, 27-12 in the final period to close out the victory.

QUICK FACTS

• Geneseo went 21-for-21 from the foul line, setting a program record for most free throws made without a miss in a single game, surpassing a 16-for-16 effort in a 65-52 victory over Oneonta on Feb. 14, 2015. 
• Brooks went 11-for-11 from the line, tying for the second-most free throws without a miss in a game, Annie Verdino '08 set the record, going 14-for-14 against Nazareth in 2006.
• McCulley finished with a career-high 12 points, going 4-for-8 from behind the arc.
