Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore back Caleb Murthy netted a goal but it wasn't enough as the Knights fell to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oneonta, 4-1, on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Dragons notched a pair of goals in the first half, scoring one on a penalty kick, to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
- After another Oneonta score, Murthy responded in the 57th minute with a shot that deflected off the post and in, cutting the lead to 3-1.
- The Knights pressed to cut further into the deficit but left themselves exposed on the defensive end, allowing Oneonta to score again to make it 4-1 with 15 minutes to play.
QUICK FACTS
- Sophomore goalkeeper Dillon Medd made eight saves between the pipes for the Knights.
- Oneonta midfielder Carlos Martinez was issued a red card in the 84th minute.
- The Knights have dropped eight straight contests to the Red Dragons and have not beaten their conference foe since Oct. 2, 2009.
