Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Morgan Maley and sophomore midfielder Maria Dillingham each tallied a goal, but it was Manhattanville earning the 3-2 victory in overtime in the consolation game of the Betty Richy Tournament, hosted by Vassar, Saturday.
Manhattanville (1-1) got on the board in the sixth minute and led until the 34th minute of the first half. Maley collected a loose ball off a shot by junior midfielder Diana Ruggiero and scored to even the game, 1-1, heading into halftime.
Manhattanville re-took the lead by converting a penalty corner in the 18th minute of the second half, but the Knights bounced back just over a minute later after Dillingham collected her own rebound after a save by the Valiant goalie and scored from close range to tie the score, 2-2.
Playing the remainder of regulation scoreless, it was Manhattanville earning the victory 1:22 into overtime after converting a penalty corner.
Maley and Ruggiero were named to the All-Tournament team for the Knights.
Geneseo will host William Smith on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the home opener.
