Box Score GENSESO N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team fell to visiting Buffalo State, 1-0, Friday afternoon in both teams' first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) match of the season.
Buffalo State senior forward Melissa Smith scored the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute for the Bengals (5-1-2, 1-0 SUNYAC). Smith had the ball on the left wing and made a nice move to elude a Knights' defender before scoring on a tough-angle shot inside the far post.
The Knights (2-1-3, 0-1 SUNYAC) return to action Saturday (Sept. 24th) hosting SUNYAC-rival Fredonia at 4:00 PM.
