POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior goalie Nicole Gregg totaled nine saves but it was host Vassar coming away with the 1-0 victory over the Knights in both teams' season-opener, Friday, in the first round of the Betty Richey Tournament.

Vassar's Mikayla Young deflected home the lone goal of the game with less than 13 minutes to play in regulation to seal the win.

Geneseo (0-1) will square off with Manhattanville on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the consolation game.
