ELMIRA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Gabriella Clare scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Knights past host Elmira, 4-1, Saturday afternoon.

Elmira (2-7) opened the scoring in the ninth minute of play on a corner attempt before Clare put the Knights on the board in the 22nd minute to finish off a Knights' penalty corner.

The teams remained tied until the 51st minute when Clare scored on a rebound from close range. Less than a minute later, Clare fed junior forward Cara Stafford for a tally to put Geneseo ahead for good.

Junior midfielder Diana Ruggiero scored off an insert from junior midfielder Morgan Maley on a corner attempt in the 65th minute to close the scoring. 

Geneseo (2-8) returns home on Wednesday (Oct. 5) for a 4:00 p.m. showdwon with Nazareth.
