GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior goalkeeper Dayna Mercer was credited with four saves but it was No. 5 Skidmore shutting down the Knights for a 2-0 win, Saturday, at College Stadium.

Skidmore (3-0) tallied a goal in each half, starting with senior forward Dani DeGregory's blast from the top-left corner of the shooting circle off a penalty corner in the 13th minute. 

Twenty-one minutes into the second half, junior defender Becca Halter tipped a pass from senior defender Jenn Hanks high into the upper left corner of the Knights' cage to finish another penalty corner. 

Geneseo (1-3) put together several solid scoring chances, but Skidmore sophomore goalkeeper Zoe McGuire logged 13 saves to preserve the shutout.

The Knights return to action on Wednesday, hosting Utica at 5:00 p.m.
