ROCHESTER, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo first-year keeper Emily Janiszewski totaled six saves as the No. 23 Knights suffered their first setback of the season at No. 16 Nazareth, 3-0, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.

The Golden Flyers got on the scoreboard in the 29th minute as junior midfielder Michaela Soules scored a through ball delivered by first-year forward Jessica Byrnes into the left corner of the net. In the 36th minute, Nazareth made it a 2-0 game after first-year midfielder Mary LoCicero scored off the far pipe from outside the 18-yard line off an assist from Soules. The hosts entered halftime with a 5-3 advantage in shots.

In the 54th minute, senior midfielder Courtney Malia added another score for the Golden Flyers (3-0-1) off an assist from senior midfielder Danielle Wilkin as the Knights on the day, 11-7.

Geneseo (2-1) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 12, opposite St. John Fisher at Nazareth. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
