Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Justin Ringen was credited with 30 points, eight rebounds and six assists but it was Roberts Wesleyan using a late 10-0 run to slip past the Knights, 85-82, in the semifinals of the Wendy's College Classic, hosted by Rochester.
Second-seeded Geneseo will face eighth-seeded RIT in the third-place game scheduled for 3 p.m. at the University of Rochester.
Trailing 15-14 at 12:41 in the first half, the Knights went on an 8-0 run to take a 22-15 lead at 10:23. Tied at 24 with 8:53 on the clock, senior forward Nick Fessenden made a lay-up that sparked an 11-3 run to put Geneseo ahead by eight, 35-27, at 5:19.
Junior guard John Decker scored a lay-up at 1:34 to extend the lead to 12, 47-39, but Roberts Wesleyan made a free throw with 35 seconds remaining to cut its deficit to seven, 47-40, going into halftime.
At 13:47 in the second half, sophomore guard Kevin Crockett scored from beyond the arc to give the Knights their largest lead of the game, 59-46. Following two made free-throws by Ringen, Redhawks' first-year guard Quinn Carey tallied a three to make it a seven-point game, 68-61, at 8:43.
Geneseo (5-1) held a 78-69 lead with 3:20 left in regulation, but the Redhawks (2-3) scored 10 unanswered points, including a pair of three pointers by Carey, to take a 79-78 lead with 1:37 remaining. Carey finished the night with a game-high 33 points, including an 8-of-12 showing from long-range.
A Ringen lay-up at 1:19 put Genseo back on top by one, 80-79, but Roberts Wesleyan out-scored the Knights, 6-2, to close the game.
