Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - SUNY Geneseo senior forward David Ripple notched a goal and an assist while first-year goalie Devin McDonald was credited with 23 saves for his first collegiate shutout to lead the Knights to a 3-0 victory at Williams, Saturday.
Scoreless through two periods, Geneseo (5-1-2) scored three unanswered tallies in third period to earn the victory. Ripple scored off an assist by junior forward Connor Anthoine with 18:47 on the clock to break the scoreless draw.
Following an Eph high-sticking call at at 10:57, it was junior forward Stephen Collins scoring off assists from Ripple and first-year forward Anthony Marra to make it a 2-0 Knights edge with 9:57 left in regulation.
Geneseo junior forward RJ Burns added an empty-net goal with 27 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory.
McDonald remained unbeaten in his first campaignn with the Knights, improving to 5-0-1 with the decision while handing Williams (2-1) its first loss of the season.
Geneseo returns to action next week, hosting State University of New York Athletic Conference foes Potsdam on Friday (Dec. 4) and Plattsburgh on Saturday (Dec. 5). Both games are set to face-off at 7:00 p.m.
