Box Score CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Arthur Gordon scored his first collegiate goal as the Knights earned the 1-1 tie at Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's ice hockey action, Saturday.
After a scoreless Cortland (0-1-1, 0-1-1 SUNYAC) got on the board 58 seconds into the second period as a shot by Dan Broderick from the top of the right face-off circle circle deflected its way through traffic and into the Geneseo goal.
Following a Cortland boarding call at 16:37 of the third period, it was Gordon scoring off assists from defenseman sophomore defenseman Pat Condon and first-year forward Anthony Marra 54 seconds later to even the score, 1-1.
Geneseo first-year goalie Devin McDonald was credited with 28 saves in his first collegiate start, while Red Dragon counterpart Drew Weigman totaled 37 stops as the Knights out-shot Cortland, 38-29.
Geneseo (0-0-2, 0-0-2 SUNYAC) returns home for back-to-back visits from Canton next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 6-7). Both games are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. at Wilson Ice Arena.
