Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Matt D'Amico tallied two goals while senior back Brad Campion also scored to lead the Knights to a 3-0 victory over visiting St. John Fisher in the team's final game of the 2015 campaign, Wednesday night.
In the 25th minute, Campion one-timed a rebound into the back of the net following a shot by sophomore back Kevin McGrath that was saved on the goalline by Cardinals' sophomore forward Jake Gentile into the middle of the penalty area.
D'Amico added to the scoreboard in the 54th minute when he notched a goal from five yards out after junior forward Ethan Gunty slotted him the ball through St. John Fisher's defense from the left half of the penalty box.
In the 72nd minute, D'Amico knocked home a penalty kick after he was fouled in the box to secure the victory for Geneseo. D'Amico finished the season with a team-high 28 points on 13 goals and two assists.
Junior keeper Trevor Heckathorn recorded his first collegiate win and the team's eighth shutout of the year as the Knights outshot the Cardinals, 19-2, on the night.
Geneseo finished with a 10-6-3 record, including a 4-5 conference mark that left them just one-point shy of qualifying for the postseason tournament.
