Geneseo had a scoring opportunity in the 53rd minute but senior midfielder Marissa Benson's header off a corner kick by junior back Patricia Galan was saved by Plattsburgh keeper Nichole Gibson.

In the 78th minute, Cardinals' sophomore forward Sarah Haight broke the scoreless tie with a goal into the left corner after taking a pass through the middle of the box from junior midfielder Ashlie Guinness.

The hosts tallied another goal in the 82nd minute when senior forward Devin McMahon beat first-year keeper Juliana Panepento on a low score off an assist from Anissa Hartmann.

Plattsburgh (11-5-1, 5-3 SUNYAC) outshot Geneseo, 14-8, as Panepento made six saves in her first collegiate start.
