GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Jaisen Clark tallied his second goal of the season to lead the Knights to a 1-0 victory over No. 11 Plattsburgh in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action at College Stadium, Friday afternoon.

"I'm really happy with the way we played today," said head coach Dominic Oliveri. "We came out strong and had one of our best games all season. While we could of done a better job of finishing offensively, we came away with a great result."

Geneseo dominated play from the start, tallying six shots in the first six minutes of play. In the 18th minute, Clark scored into the right corner of the net after junior forward Ethan Gunty slotted him the ball through the middle of the defense. The Knights had recorded 14 shots by halftime to the Cardinals' one.

Play went back and forth in the second half and Geneseo strung together several scoring chances but the team was unable to add to the scoreboard.

Plattsburgh's best opportunity came in the 87th minute when senior defender Clay Sherman had a header off a corner kick by senior midfielder Nelson Vetter but sophomore back Jonathan Tiralosi was on the goal line for the defensive save, preserving the team's sixth shutout of the year.

The Knights outshot the Cardinals (12-2-3, 4-1-3 SUNYAC), 19-5, as senior keeper Logan Calvey was only called upon to make two saves.

Geneseo (8-6-3, 3-5 SUNYAC) returns to action tomorrow opposite Potsdam at home. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. as the Class of 2016 will be honored during a pregame senior day ceremony.
