The Hawks struck first, tallying a goal in the 30th minute of play as senior Jake Falk scored into the top right corner of the net off after collecting a pass from junior forward Tyler Lundgren.
In the 36th minute, D'Amico evened the score when he scored off a rebound with an assist from senior midfielder Jaisen Clark. New Paltz (7-3, 2-1 SUNYAC) entered halftime with a 6-5 edge in shots.
In the 79th minute, senior midfielder Joe Hughes scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off assists from junior midfielders Sam Spring and Tucker Stern.
Senior keeper Logan Calvey made three saves while each team finished the game with 11 shots and three corner kicks.
Geneseo (5-3-3, 1-2 SUNYAC) continues conference play with a match-up at Oneonta tomorrow set for 1 p.m.
