BROCKPORT, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Emily Green recorded two goals to lead the Knights to a 3-0 victory at Brockport in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Saturday.

"It was a great game and we played really well," said head coach Nate Wiley. "Even though we were scoreless at halftime, I still felt good about how we were playing. We really stepped up our energy in the second half which lead to three nice goals. Raschke's early goal was exactly what we needed. I'm just very pleased with our result and the mentality we've been playing with. It's a positive way to be going into the final stretch of conference play."

Geneseo outshot the Golden Eagles, 15-3, in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net as the game remained scoreless at the break.

Just 26 seconds into the second period, senior forward Kelsey Raschke scored into the top half of the net after junior midfielder Meaghan Johnston tapped her the loose ball.

The Knights struck again in the 62nd minute when Green tallied a goal into the far post after collecting the ball that had deflected off a Brockport defender.

In the 75th minute, Green scored her team-high eighth goal of the season down the middle of the box off an an assist from junior midfielder Laurie Knapp to seal the win.

Geneseo outshot Brockport (5-4-3, 1-2-2 SUNYAC), 23-7, on the day and had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. First-year keeper Emily Janiszewski made four saves to preserve the shutout.

The Knights (8-3-1, 3-2 SUNYAC) continue league action Thursday, Oct. 15, with a game at home opposite Oswego set to kick-off at 6 p.m.
