Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Cara Stafford tallied her second-straight hat-trick and handed out an assist to lead the Knights to a 7-1 victory over visiting Keuka, Saturday afternoon.
Junior forward Amy Fasel added two goals while first-year midfielder Tess Necaise had a goal and an assist in the win.
In the 15th minute, Stafford scored from the left half of the circle after taking a pass from Necaise to put Geneseo on the scoreboard. In the 29th minute, Stafford struck again off an assist from senior forward Sarah Malinak.
In the 31st minute, Necaise scored from the middle of the circle off a pass from Stafford from the left side of the field to give the Knights a 3-0 lead going into halftime.
Just over two minutes into the second half, Stafford recorded her third goal of the game after settling a pass from Malinak. In the 44th minute, Fasel found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore midfielder Morgan Maley. Fasel scored again in the 47th minute after collecting a pass from first-year forward Gabriella Clare.
Keuka (2-8) got on the board in the 52nd minute when first-year defender Brianna Coia scored from the top of the circle following a penalty corner from first-year midfielder Alizabeth Knout.
In the 56th minute, sophomore forward Molly Higgins tallied a goal into the right corner of the net off an assist from first-year midfielder Maria Dillingham.
Geneseo (6-6) returns to action this Wednesday, Oct. 14, with a game at conference-foe Brockport scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
