Men's Soccer Falls To Brockport, 1-0

Box Score

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Ethan Gunty recorded three shots on goal while senior keeper Logan Calvey made three saves as the Knights fall to visiting Brockport, 1-0, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Saturday night.

"It's dissapointing because we played well enough to win tonight," said head coach Dominic Oliveri. "Their goalkeeper really was the difference in the game. He made some great saves and we just couldn't find the back of the net."

In the 31st minute of play, Golden Eagles senior forward Peter DiLorenzo scored a header into the top half of the net off a cross from senior back David Rougeux for his team-high eighth goal on the year. Despite trailing 1-0 at halftime, Geneseo held a 5-3 edge in shots.

The Knights (6-5-3, 1-4 SUNYAC) strung together several offensive opportunities in the second half but were unable to capitalize as Brockport (8-2-2, 2-1-2 SUNYAC) held on for the shutout.

Geneseo returns to action next Friday for a game at Oswego scheduled to beign at 3 p.m.
