Men's Ice Hockey Skates To Scoreless Draw At No. 9 Adrian

Box Score

ADRIAN, Mich. - SUNY Geneseo senior goalie Nick Horrigan totaled 35 saves to preserve his third shoutout of the season as the Knights skated to a 0-0 draw at No. 9 Adrian (Mich.), Tuesday night.

Adrian (10-2-1) entered the night ranked second nationally averaging 5.33 goals per game, but Geneseo (6-4-2), ranked 15th in the country with a 2.18 goals against average, held the Bulldogs without a goal for only their second game in over six season.

The Knights' best scoring chance came in the second period following an Adrian holding penalty that resulted in a penalty shot with 7:45 on the clock. Sophomore forward Jack Ceglarski brought the puck toward the left post and deked twice before releasing a short wrist shot that was saved between the pads of Bulldog goalie Scott Shackell.

In a physical game throughout, Geneseo killed off five penalties, but finished 0-for-2 on two extra-man opportunities of its own.

Shackell stopped all 22 of the Knights shots he faced to keep the visitors off the board.

Geneseo returns home for a pair of non-league contests this Friday and Saturday, hosting Elmira and Hobart, respectively. Both games are slated for 7:00 p.m. face-offs at Wilson Ice Arena.
