Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior winger David Ripple was credited with two goals, including the game-winning tally with 9:38 left in the third period, as the Knight came back from a 2-0 second-period deficit to earn the 3-2 upset at No. 8 Plattsburgh, Saturday night, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's ice hockey.
Plattsburgh got on the board with 16:14 left in the first period and took a 2-0 lead with a short-handed tally at 12:48 of the second period.
Junior forward Ryan Donnelly started the Knights' comeback with a tally with 5:55 left in the second period to make it a 2-1 game at the second intermission.
Geneseo tied the game with a power play goal by Ripple with 16:44 left in regulation.
Ripple's decisive goal came on the power play off assists by sophomore forward Trevor Hills and sophomore defenseman Cam Hampson as the Knights improved their SUNYAC record to 6-5 on the season (9-8-3 overall).
Senior goalie Nick Horrigan was credited with 26 saves to preserve the victory.
The Knights return to action next Friday with a home contest against Brockport at 7:00 p.m.
