GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Genseo sophomore forward Trevor Hills scored two goals but it was visiting Hobart overcoming a 4-2 second-period deficit with five unanswered goal to take the 7-4 decision, Saturday night, at Wilson Ice Arena. The game was marred by a combined 27 penalties and 132 minutes of penalty time

Hills got things going in the first period, scoring from a tough angle from the bottom of the right faceoff circle with 7:31 on the clock, before junior forward David Ripple gave the Knights a 2-0 lead with a power-play goal at 3:23. Hobart (9-5-0) notched a power-play tally of its own with 49 seconds on the clock to make it a 2-1 Geneseo lead at the first intermission.

Knights senior forward Tyler Brickler tipped home his team-leading eighth goal of the season at the 16:29 mark of the second period, but Hobart pulled back within one at 6:55 on the first of two tallies in the game by forward Brad Robbins.

Hills' second goal of the game came with 4:51 remaining in the second on rebound following a Knights' rush on net, but the Statesmen answered 46 seconds later with a power play goal by Ryan Michel that made it a 4-3 Geneseo lead after 40 minutes of play.

Hobart wasted little time putting the game away with two goals in the first minute of the third period and another by Robbins to take a 6-4 lead with 13:09 to play in regulation. Robbins completed the hat trick with 3:30 to play to finish off the scoring.

Hobart finished the night with a 56-35 shot advantage while goalie Lino Chimienti totaled 31 saves to earn the victory. Geneseo senior goalie Bryan Haude was credited with 42 saves in his first start of the season, but was chased with just over 13 minutes to play in the third period after Hobart scored their sixth goal. Sophomore Matt Leon finished the game, stopping seven shots while allowing one goal.

Geneseo returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 15), traveling to Philadelphia to take on Neumann in a 7:00 p.m. faceoff, before returning home on Saturday to host the back end of the home-and-home set with the Knights at 7:00 p.m.
