Women's Soccer Sneaks Away With 1-0 Victory At St. John Fisher

Box Score

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior back Erin Froehlich scored the game-winning goal with eight seconds left in regulation as the Knights escaped with a 1-0 victory at St. John Fisher, Saturday night in women's soccer action. With the win, Geneseo improves to 4-0 on the season.

The Knights out-shot the Cardinals, 18-4, for the game but it wasn't until the final seconds of the second half that they were able to break through for the game's only goal.

Following nearly two halves of scoreless action, junior forward Kelsey Raschke sent a pass from the right flank to the far post where Froehlich scored the game-winner from close range after Cardinal keeper Brooke Seavitt mishandled the loose ball.

Senior goalkeeper Allison Stamp was only called upon to make one save to preserve her third shutout of the season.

Geneseo looks to keep its unbeaten streak alive on Friday, traveling to Alfred for a 4:00 p.m. first kick before hosting Houghton on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
