Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Jaisen Clark scored his second goal of the season, but it was No. 3 St. Lawrence taking a 2-1 overtime victory, Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, the Saints (3-1) got the first tally of the day. Morgan Smith brought the ball down the left side and scored on a shot from 15 yards out in the 67th minute.
Fourteen minutes later, the Knights (2-2) evened the score after senior midfielder Connor Beisner went up for a looping cross in front of the Saints' goal. Beisner was able to get a head on the ball just before St. Lawrence keeper Aaron Costello could grab it, and knocked it down to the goal line where Clark tapped home the equalizer in the 81st minute.
With 1:04 left in the first overtime, St. Lawrence midfielder Rob Brandell brought the ball over midfield on the right side and sent a long cross to sophomore back Ross Suitor on the left. Suitor took a shot from 16 yards out that deflected off the cross bar and down into the goal.
Geneseo junior goalie Logan Calvey had seven saves in the loss.
Geneseo returns to action with a match at Ithaca, next Saturday (Sept. 13). Faceoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
