Box Score 2 GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo split two matches on the opening day of the Geneseo Women's Volleyball Invitational, Friday night. The Knights (11-2) swept Medaille, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-23), before falling, 3-0 to Canton (25-19, 25-14, 25-20) in the nightcap.

Junior setter Bethany VanDerMeid totaled a double-double 28 assists and 10 digs to lead the Knights to the shutout over Medaille in the opener. Sophomore outside hitter Tricia Baxley and sophomore middle blocker Courtney Cleary each compiled a match-high seven kills to lead the attack.
Canton 3, Geneseo 0
Sophomore defensive specialist Dani Sayler compiled 12 digs, but it was the Kangaroos (8-4) sending the Knights to their second loss of the season. Canton outside hitter Jessica Reynolds led all attackers with 10 kills while junior libero Robyn Carroll was credited with 21 digs in the victory.
Geneseo returns to action on Saturday with a pair of matches against Rochester at 10:00 a.m. and Hilbert at 2:00 p.m.
