DALLAS, Pa. - SUNY Geneseo junior right side hitter Erika Dannenfelser and sophomore Paige Pendleton each totaled seven kills to lead the women's volleyball to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-15) season-opening victory over Cazenovia on first-day action at the Misericordia (Pa.) Tournament, Friday.

"We showed visible signs of improvement from last year in our first match of the season," said head coach Jen Salmon. "I thought we showed great versatility and depth at each position."

Junior setter Bethany VanDerMeid compiled 23 assists while junior defensive specialist Jia Sha picked up eight digs to lead the Knights.

Geneseo (1-0) will play two more matches on Saturday, taking on RIT at 11:00 a.m. and host Misericordia at 1:00 p.m.
