Women's Volleyball Comes Up Short Opposite Oswego, 3-2

FREDONIA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore right side hitter Emma Lannon totaled 13 kills and 23 digs while sophomore libero Dani Sayler added 28 digs but it was Fredonia holding on for a 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-10) victory, Friday night in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's volleyball pool play, hosted by Fredonia.

Junior setter Bethany Vandermeid scored 35 assists and 17 digs while first-year defensive specialist Kathleen Irwin chipped in 17 digs to go along with five service aces in the Knights' (17-5, 4-3 SUNYAC) setback. 

Junior middle blocker Paige Pendleton and sophomore outside hitter Tricia Baxley were credited with 11 and 10 kills, respectively, while junior outside hitter Lizzy Morton picked up 13 digs. 

Geneseo closes out SUNYAC play on Saturday, taking on New Paltz at 10:00 a.m. and the host Blue Devils at 12:30 p.m.
