GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Leah Greene tallied her second goal of the weekend as the Knights played to a 1-1 draw at Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday afternoon. On Friday, Greene's goal led the team to a 1-0 victory at Oswego.

"I thought we were the better team during stretches of the game today and did things well that could have led us to a win," said head coach Nate Wiley. "We maintained possession for the majority of the second half and in overtime but they did a good job of making it difficult for us to get any clean looks in the back third. We played well and I'm happy with our performance, especially in the later periods."

Despite outshooting the Red Dragons, 9-3, in the first 45 minutes of play, Geneseo was unable to find the back of the net as the game remained scoreless at the half.

In the 67th minute, Greene took a cross from sophomore forward Laurie Knapp and scored into the lower left corner of the goal from six yards out for her team-leading 10th goal of the season.

Cortland (6-6-2, 5-1-2 SUNYAC) responded in the 82nd minute when junior forward Krista Conzo scored on a header off a cross from senior midfielder Rachel Parker to send the game into extra time.

The Knights tallied the only two shots in the overtime periods but could not come away with the victory. Senior keeper Allison Stamp recorded three saves as the team outshot the Red Dragons, 20-6.

The Knights (12-2-2, 5-1-1 SUNYAC) look to continue the program's best start since the 1993 squad went 15-1 with their final two conference games next weekend. Plattsburgh comes to town for a match Friday at 3 p.m. while Potsdam arrives Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
