Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior keeper Logan Calvey recorded his fifth shutout on the season as the Knights played to a 0-0 draw at Brockport in State University of New York Athletic conference (SUNYAC), Saturday night.
Play went back and forth in the first half as neither team was able to find the back of the net. Despite tallying five shots on goal and earning three corner kicks, the Knights were unable to get on the score board.
In the second period, both defenses remained strong and limited solid scoring opportunities to send the game into overtime as junior back Terence McGovern and senior back Tyler Chauncey played the entire match for the Knights.
Brockport (7-1-5, 2-1-2 SUNYAC) tallied eight shots in extra play, its best opportunity coming in the 95th minute when junior midfielder Collin Goettel fired a shot from ten yards out off of a Golden Eagles corner but Calvey made a diving save to keep them off the board.
In the 104th minute, Geneseo narrowly missed a scoring opportunity when first-year back Kevin McGrath's header off a corner kick by senior midfielder Neil Allen sailed wide.
Calvey recorded seven saves on the night as the Knights were outshot by a margin of 21-17.
Geneseo (7-5-2, 2-2-1 SUNYAC) returns to action next Friday afternoon for a match opposite Oswego at 3 p.m. at Saratoga Field.
