Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore guard Dana Cohan scored a career-high 24 points but it was Oneonta making up a 19 point deficit to earn the 61-56 win in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's basketball, Saturday.
The game started out as an even battle with eight lead changes until the 6:52 mark in the first half. A three-pointer by junior Shannon McGinnis sparked a 15-1 run to end the first half as the Knights led 39-24 at intermission. McGinnis scored seven of the 15 points on the run.
Consecutive three-pointer's by Cohan and junior center Katie Peterson at the start of the second half put Geneseo up by 19 points, it's highest margin of the game. The Knights would hold a double-digit lead until an Oneonta (13-4, 7-3 SUNYAC) basket by Alyshia Crawford at the 10:20 mark put the Red Dragons down just nine points, 49-40.
Geneseo scored just seven more points after that as Oneonta went on a 24-7 run to seal the victory. The Knights last basket was a jumpshot by Cohan with 5:25 to go in the game.
Geneseo returns to Schrader Gymnasium on Tuesday where it will face Oswego at 6:00 p.m.
