BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo outlasted host Hilbert, 3-2 (25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 29-31, 15-9), Wednesday night in non-conference women's volleyball action.

After the Knights (2-2) swept the first two sets, Hilbert (1-2) battled back with two victories of their own to force the deciding set. Geneseo jumped out to a 8-1 advantage and was able to hold off the Hawks for the win.

Sophomore defensive specialist Samantha Holdredge compiled 11 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Lizzy Morton totaled five kills and seven digs for the Knights. First-year middle blocker Courtney Cleary led the team with six kills and four service aces.

Geneseo returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Golden Flyer Invitational, hosted by Nazareth. On Friday, the Knights will play a rematch with Hilbert at 4:00 p.m., before taking on host Nazareth at 7:00 p.m. Saturday will start with a matchup with RIT at 10:00 a.m., followed by a championship/consolation match at either 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.
