Women's Soccer Takes 1-0 Decision At Fredonia

FREDONIA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year Erin O'Connor scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 55th minute as the Knights defeated host Fredonia, 1-0, to pick up their first victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday.

Senior goalkeeper Julia Sanger registered her fifth shutout of the season, including her fourth in Geneseo's last five outings, registering seven saves to preserve the victory.

O'Connor lifted a short shot from the left zone into the upper right corner of the net, beating Blue Devil goalkeeper Heather McGlinchey for the deciding goal.

The Knights (3-4-2, 1-1 SUNYAC) return to action next Friday and Saturday, hosting back-to-back SUNYAC matches opposite Oneonta (4:00 p.m.) and New Paltz (1:00 p.m.), respectively.
