BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Sam Holdredge compiled 17 digs, but it was Buffalo State taking a 3-1 (22-25, 25-24, 25-17, 25-15) victory, Friday afternoon in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's volleyball opener at Brockport.

The Knights (8-9, 0-1 SUNYAC) won the first set, but the Bengals (9-6, 1-0) bounced back to sweep three straight sets en route to the victory.

First-year setter Sarah Pray led Geneseo with 18 assists in the loss. 

The Knights will continue pool play tomorrow, taking on the host Golden Eagles at 10:30 a.m. before finishing the round-robin weekend opposite New Paltz at 12:30 p.m.
