Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 At Buffalo St. In SUNYAC Opener

Box Score

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team lost, 1-0, at Buffalo State on Friday in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opener for both squads.

Senior goalkeeper Julia Sanger was credited with two saves as the Knights allowed their first goal in over four games and a span of 448:58. Geneseo hadn't allowed a goal since the first half of a 1-0 setback versus St. John Fisher on Sept. 7.

The game was scoreless until the 88th minute when Megan Chapple scored off an assist from Paula Jones as the Bengals (5-2-1, 1-0 SUNYAC) escaped with the victory.

Geneseo (2-4-2, 0-1 SUNYAC) will be back in action on Saturday, traveling to SUNYAC-rival Fredonia for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff with the Blue Devils.
