Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior goalkeeper Julia Sanger made eight saves to preserve her second shutout of the season in a 0-0 tie at RIT, Wednesday afternoon.
Geneseo had the best chance of the first half when senior midfielder Alexa Krebs fired a shot from 15 yards out that RIT goalie Siena Fisher saved on a dive to her left to keep the game scoreless.
Sanger snuffed out the Tigers' best scoring opportunity in the 52nd minute, making a diving save of her own on a tough bending shot by the RIT attack. The Tigers earned another corner, but Geneseo was able to clear the ball and counter attack, placing RIT's defense in a 3-on-1 predicament. Krebs wound up with the ball off the break and had a wide open shot from 10 yards out, but her shot went wide of the net.
Neither team generated any decent chances in the overtime periods.
Shots were 14-12 in favor of the Tigers, while RIT took eight corner kicks to four for the Knights.
Geneseo heads north on Saturday for a match at St. Lawrence slated to kick-off at 12:00 p.m.
