Box Score 2 ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team closed out the 2013 campaign with a pair of victories on Saturday at St. John Fisher. Following a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-11) victory over Alfred, the Knights escaped with a wild 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 17-25, 21-19) win over the host Cardinals.
Versus St. John Fisher, first-year outside hitter Tricia Baxley and sophomore outside hitter Lizzy Morton each compiled a match-high 15 kills, whle sophomore middle blocker Paige Pendleton added 10 kills to the cause.
Defensively, first-year libero Dani Sayler was credited with 16 digs, while first-year Sarah Pray (15) and sophomore Samantha Holdredge (10) each also reached double-digits in digs.
Sophomore setter Erika Dannenfelser totaled 43 assists in the victory as the Knights fought off four match points to tie the game at 19-19 and scored the deciding two points on a Cardinal service error and a hitting error to clinch the match.
Against Alfred, Pendleton led the way with 13 kills, while Sayler and Morton were tops for the Knights with seven digs. Dannenfelser assisted 28 kills and directed the Knights to a .319 team attack percentage.
