Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Connor Beisner converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute, but it was New Paltz holding off the Knights for a 3-1 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday.
The Hawks (3-6-2, 2-2 SUNYAC) got on the board in the 12th minute on a goal by Dondre Irving off a long assist by Javier Ventas to take a 1-0 lead that stood through halftime.
Ventas then tallied his own marker at 61:47 to put New Paltz up by two, but Beisner was awarded a penalty kick just under two minutes later after being fouled in the Hawks box, which he netted to cut the deficit in half.
Ventas would put the game out of reach in the 71st minute with his second tally of the day as the Knights (5-6-1, 2-2 SUNYAC) dropped their second conference match in two days after starting with two-straight a week ago at home.
Geneseo returns to non-league action at home on Wednesday (Oct. 9), hosting RIT at 4:00 p.m.
