Box Score 2 Complete SUNYAC Pool Play Results
GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball hosted Fredonia, Oneonta and Plattsburgh on Friday and Saturday in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play action.
Geneseo finished the three-match round-robin with a 1-2 record.
Geneseo 3, Oneonta 1
Geneseo dropped the first game (22-25) but went on to win the next three (25-23, 25-14, 25-23) against the Red Dragons.
First-year outside hitter Tricia Baxley led the way for the Knights with 16 kills and. Her and sophomore Paige Pendleton tallied 30 total attacks while sophomore Lizzy Morton had 27 for Geneseo.
Sophomore Erika Dannenfelser racked up 40 assists on the way to the victory.
Fredonia 3, Geneseo 1
Morton totaled a team-high 11 kills, while Dannenfelser tallied 33 assists to lead the Knights in a 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-19, 25-27) setback to the Blue Devils.
Plattsburgh 3, Geneseo 1
Geneseo came out on the short end of a 3-1 score against visiting Plattsburgh on Saturday morning at Schrader Gym. In the first of two SUNYAC pool play matches of the day, the Knights fell 25-21, 25-17, 18-25, 25-15.
Junior outside hitter Meagan Johnson anchored the Knights' attack with 10 kills and a .318 hitting percentage. Other top hitters included sophomore middle blocker Paige Pendleton and Baxley who added nine and eight kills, respectively. Dannenfelser delivered 40 assists, while first year libero Dani Sayler totaled 13 digs for the contest.
The Knights held Plattsburgh to a .195 hitting percentage and held a 4.0-2.0 advantage in blocks. Rosi Cummings and Laura Diehl paced the Cardinals with 19 and 11 kills, respectively.
Geneseo dropped to 11-18 overall and 2-7 in SUNYAC play. Plattsburgh improved to 13-13 on the season and 6-3 in conference play.
