Women's Volleyball Splits At Clarkson Invitational

CANTON, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo split a pair of matches on the second day of the Golden Knights Invitational, hosted by Clarkson. Geneseo picked up a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-10) sweep of Medaille while falling to Canton, 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-21). 

First-year outside hitter Tricia Baxley led the attack in both matches, totaling 11 kills and a .435 hitting percentage against Canton, while also compiling nine kills versus Medaille.

Sophomore setter Erika Dannenfelser totaled 23 assists versus Canton as well as 20 more opposite Medaille.

In the Canton match, first-year defensive specialist Dani Sayler led all players with 13 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Lizzy Morton was credited with 10 digs in both matches on the day.

The Knights will return home to host the final round of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play next Friday and Saturday versus visiting Oneonta, Fredonia and Plattsburgh.
