Box Score 2 POTSDAM, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo dropped two matches on the second day of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play, Saturday, hosted by Potsdam. The Knights 9-13, 1-5) came out on the short end of a tough 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 27-25, 22-25, 15-13) decision against Cortland, before falling to Oswego, 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23) to wrap up the weekend.
Junor outside hitter Meagan Johnson compiled a double-double with 11 kills and 17 digs, while sophomore Erika Dannenfelser combined a career-best 53 assists to go along with 11 digs in the five-set loss to three-time defending SUNYAC champion Cortland. Sophomore libero Samantha Holdredge tied her career-high with 30 digs during the match.
Against Oswego (14-10, 1-4 SUNYAC), Johnson again led the way with 11 kills, while Holdredge compiled 24 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Paige Pendleton was credited with 10 kills on 20 swings with only three errors for a .350 hitting percentage, while Dannenfelser added 40 assists.
The Knights will travel to Houghton on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. match, before heading to the Clarkson Tournament on Friday and Saturday to play four matches.
