Women's Soccer Falls Short At Brockport In 1-0 Setback

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior goalkeeper Julia Sanger was credited with five saves, but it was host Brockport holding on for a 1-0 decision in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's soccer action, Saturday.

The Golden Eagles (8-2-1, 3-1-1 SUNYAC) scored the game's lone goal in the 43rd minute, as Chelsea Stahl was able to dodge Sanger and score from close range for the eventual game winner.

Geneseo (4-5-3, 2-2-1 SUNYAC) built a 17-16 lead in shots, but Brockport goalkeeper Laura Thompson was credited with 11 saves to preserve the victory.

The Knights return to action next weekend, hosting Cortland Friday (Oct. 18) at 3:00 p.m. and Oswego on Saturday (Oct. 19) at 1:00 p.m. in SUNYAC play.
