Riley Damerell begins his first season as the assistant tennis coach beginning in the fall of 2026.
Damerell competed on the men's tennis team at SUNY Purchase from 2013-17, where he played first singles and first doubles for all four years, earning First-Team All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles his final three years. Damerell set program records for career wins during his time with the Panthers, and helped lead Purchase to its first Conference Championship match for the first time in over a decade during his senior campaign.
In high school, Damerell competed at Brighton High School in Rochester, N.Y., where he helped the Barons win five sectional titles. He set the school program record for career wins after competing at the varsity level for five years. In doubles, Damerell partnered with Tony Zhao to reach the state tournament three times, winning the Class B sectional tournament in doubles during their senior year. The duo went on to win the consolation tournament at states in 2013.
Damerell resides in Geneseo, NY with his wife, Alex, and two daughters, Clarke and Cam.
