The SUNY Geneseo Department of Athletics and Recreation is thrilled to announce the addition of Corie Holding as the new Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and Media Relations.

"I am excited to be joining the Geneseo Knights team! I hope to bring some of my marketing and coaching experience to SUNY Geneseo, connecting with the players and creating content that excites them," said Holding. "I can't wait to begin working with the athletics communications staff, the coaches, and our incredible athletes! Go Knights!"

Prior to joining the Knights, Holding worked alongside St. John Fisher Men's Volleyball coach Matt Cohen as an assistant coach and Social Media Manager from winter 2022 to fall 2023. She oversaw all content creation, social media as well as assisting in practices, games and analyzing footage and stats from previous games.

She is a 2022 graduate of West Virginia University, where she obtained her Master's in Sport Management with a concentration in collegiate and professional sports.

During her time at SUNY Brockport, Holding was the Marketing Director and Event Manager at Hot Shots Volleyball, a local indoor and outdoor volleyball company that hosts recreational and professional leagues and tournaments throughout the year. She ensured all media and content for the company and events were available, redesigning logos and branding and increasing the user interaction by 300%.

From 2017-2020, Holding was a student at SUNY Brockport, getting her Bachelors in Sport Management with Minors in Coaching and Philosophy. During this time, She worked within the Athletic Communications office, overseeing pre- and post-game graphics for multiple sports, written content and game day event management. Throughout this time, she honed her graphic design and photography skills, which helped set a precedent for design while there.

While completing both her degrees, Holding was the Varsity Coach for Boy's Volleyball at Brockport high School, leading the team to multiple sectional finals appearances. She also coached at Hot Shots Volleyball Club, in which she attended four East Coast and National Championships with her teams.
