ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team opened its 2026 season at the Rodenbeck Invitational, hosted by St. John Fisher, and came away with a second place finish in the 4k race, narrowly falling to the University of Buffalo by a 28-36 margin.
Danielle List led the way for Geneseo in fifth place, racing to a time of 15:34.3. Mya Patti, Maggie Christenson, and Alexa Wolfe placed sixth through eighth with times of 15:41.9, 15:42.8, and 15:50.8, respectively. Camryn Szokoli rounded out the scoring five for the Knights with a time of 15:53.1 in 10th place. Ruby Janssen and Julianna Macaskill served as displacers, crossing in 15th and 17th with times of 16:08.5 and 16:14.4.
The Knights placed all seven of their scorers within 40 seconds of one another, helping keep the team score tight with the Division I Bulls. Geneseo's next race will be on Sep. 19 at the Yellowjacket Invitational in Genesee Valley Park at 11 a.m.
