TROY, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team split into two groups this weekend, with one squad winning the team title at the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown while another finished fifth at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan.
At the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown, the Knights won the 6k race with 24 points, topping Vassar's 66. Shelby Boise led Geneseo with a runner-up finish, crossing in 21:10.5. Alexa Kosier and Greylynn Guyer followed right behind in third and fourth, running 21:12.6 and 21:13.1. Annabelle Czekanski and Ari Reback rounded out the scoring five in seventh and 10th, finishing in 21:35.1 and 21:42.9. Camryn Szokoli and Kaitlyn Hotaling served as displacers, placing 17th and 20th in 22:05.0 and 22:07.2.
At the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, Geneseo placed fifth as a team with 165 points, behind Edinboro, Cortland State, Nazareth, and Roberts Wesleyan. Abigail McLean paced the Knights, finishing 23rd overall in 19:15.4. Katie Bauman, Kate Brennan, and Ruby Janssen followed in 24th, 32nd, and 38th with times of 19:21.1, 19:36.7, and 19:40.5. Lily Benza rounded out the scoring five in 57th, crossing in 20:01.2. Keira Shaw and Finley Purvis served as displacers, finishing 58th and 59th in 20:01.6 and 20:01.8.
